What a wonderful example we have in John the Baptist! He demonstrates for us, the rarest and most precious of the graces that God gives… humility. How is it possible to know the freedom of self-forgetfulness? To not think more of myself (esteem) or to think less of myself (abasement) but to rather think of myself less! True freedom from depression, defensiveness, and a purposeless life is CHRIST!
