SERMON ON THE MOUNT – THE GOOD LIFE – CONCLUSION BEWARE OF FALSE ASSURANCE – MATT 7:21-23
June 23, 2024
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Sermon from June 23, 2024 by Pastor Bill Walker of Unity Bible Church, Lewiston, ME. This is the 20th message from our expository series called, “THE GOOD LIFE!” Where we will be considering Jesus’ teachings from the “Sermon on the Mount”, Matthew chapters 5-7. This Message was entitled “Conclusion:Beware of False Assurance!” Includes the Baptisms of Maisy, Pettra, and Kaitlyn.
In the concluding section of Jesus’ sermon… We have come to the most solemn and frightening words ever spoken by Jesus Christ… Matthew 7:23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ What makes these words so shocking is that those who heard them thought that they were good with God and had eternal life… BUT THEY DID NOT! Today we will consider what is false and true assurance of salvation…
At Unity Bible Church, our vision is to see God glorified through our worship of Him, building up believers, and sharing the Good News of Christ.
