SERMON ON THE MOUNT – THE GOOD LIFE – CONCLUSION:BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS – MATT 7:15-20
June 16, 2024
Matthew 7:15-20
You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
Sermon from June 16, 2024 by Pastor Bill Walker of Unity Bible Church, Lewiston, ME. This is the 19th message from our expository series called, “THE GOOD LIFE!” Where we will be considering Jesus’ teachings from the “Sermon on the Mount”, Matthew chapters 5-7. This Message was entitled “Conclusion:Beware of False Prophets!” Matthew 7:15-20
In the concluding section of Jesus’ sermon… Jesus moves from the truth about how one enters the kingdom of God… to a warning about false teachers. Throughout the history of God’s people there have always been competing voices. Jesus is warning us that there are those who will lead us astray if we are not on guard.
At Unity Bible Church, our vision is to see God glorified through our worship of Him, building up believers, and sharing the Good News of Christ.
