The Apostle Paul now turns his attention from God’s Sovereign Choice and the reason for Israel’s FALL from grace to Israel’s FAILURE to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. So, while the PLAN of God is very much the reason for Israel as a people being put aside, they were also culpable for their choices and it is that which Paul considers today. They missed the “Righteousness” of God which is by faith and pursued their own righteousnesses by works.
